1. Jorjia and I are almost done with our project. All we need to do is finish collecting and/or making toys and such to donate the dakin humane society 2. We have taken pictures of us making toys out of old shirts and are going to take pictures of the donation box. We will also take pictures of us bringing the toys to the shelter. 3. We will create an instagram page with our pictures and links to the shelter we donated to. 4. Jorjia and I love the idea of giving back to the community. We both have pets, so taking care of animals that don't have homes is personally satisfying. 5. I have no questions or concerns at this time.

1. For my project, Jorjia and I are collecting items (toys, treats, food, etc.) to Dakin Humane Society. 2. Our steps include actually collecting items and then donating them and somehow publicizing what we are doing. 3. We could take photos of the animals in need, take photos/videos of the collection we made, and take pictures of the animals with their new items as a thank you to those who donated. 4. We will try to create a social media page and try to put an article in the school paper. 5. We figured most things out, we just need to actually collect things to donate, which shouldn't take too  long.

Assignment#6

1. The next step in our (Jorjia and I) project was to physically get in contact with an animal shelter and find out what we could do to help. We contacted someone at the dakin humane society. 2. While talking with the shelter, they told us that the shelter was not looking for volunteers. However, they told us that we could still do things to help the shelter and the animals there. They gave us some ideas as well. They said that we could raise money, collect necessities for animals (food, toys, etc.), and call attention towards animals who need forever homes.  3. The next thing we are going to do is actually collect things, make money, etc. for the animal shelter and donate it. If the shelter ever needs volunteers however, we would be more than willing to help out at the shelter.

Step #5

The next step in my passion project is to find an animal shelter nearby that is looking for volunteers. Once I find one, I will get in contact with the shelter and find out their volunteer policy and find out what they need my help with. Once that is done, I will work out a schedule with the shelter and hopefully begin volunteering.

Blog Post #1

Looking at my ideas/passions I noticed that there was somewhat of a pattern. I seem to be leaning towards something that has to do with animals, specifically sheltered animals. Something that I don't like to see and hear a lot is the amount of animals packed into shelters because none of them have homes. Many of these animals are also coming from homes where they were neglected. Things like this make me want to do something to change this or do anything to help in some way, even if it is something small. Anything that can be done for the shelter animals makes all the difference for them. I have a pet dog, but she did not come from a shelter so I am not as familiar with what it is like to raise a shelter dog but I would imagine it would take much more time and effort because of their past. I think it is important to think about shelter animals more than they are currently thought of. Something should be done to make the shelter animals live happier lives.
